Our rapeseed oil: cold-pressed, aromatic and 100 percent Swiss Made
With its unmistakable aroma, delicate nutty-tart flavor, and shimmering yellow-green color, rapeseed oil is a local delicacy. Traditional rapeseed oil is known to be flavorless, as it is often heated or refined during production. Because our rapeseed oil is cold-pressed, it is significantly more aromatic.
Swiss rapeseed oil from plant to bottle
Our rapeseed oil is produced 100 percent in Switzerland: We source the high-quality rapeseed in Unterkulm from a fellow oil miller and farmer. It is then processed into oil in our Zurich factory at temperatures below 33 degrees Celsius. Because our rapeseed oil is cold-pressed, its many valuable ingredients are largely preserved. We don't press our oils in large quantities, but prepare them once a week or even only to order, so they are always fresh.
This is what cold-pressed rapeseed oil contains
Rapeseed oil contains a great blend of polyunsaturated fatty acids such as Omega 3 and 6. These can have a positive effect on cholesterol levels, which is why cold-pressed rapeseed oil is very popular among gourmets with a cholesterol-conscious diet.
Cold-pressed rapeseed oil for cooking
Our oil adds a touch of its delicate, tangy flavor to vegetables and all kinds of salads, but it also works wonderfully in soups and with meat dishes. Although the rapeseed oil is cold-pressed, unlike many other virgin oils, it can be gently heated, for example, in a delicate stir-fry or Mediterranean cuisine. It's also ideal for making delicious homemade mayonnaise.
Rapeseed oil doesn't have quite as long a shelf life, so we recommend using it quickly after opening to prevent it from going rancid.
Use in body care?
Although almond oil and other oils are much more well-known classics in skin care, rapeseed oil, thanks to its fatty acid composition, is very well-suited as a body care and massage oil. Its ingredients make it very attractive for mature and stressed skin.
